- The wild card character * can be used, whereas the complete field name or only part of it can be replaced.
- In the corresponding target field (MVIEW:MMS Target field 2, CLASS:MMS Target field 3) the exactly same expression must be used, otherwise an error will be signalled.
- Key fields of the maintained views are always ignored when dissolving the expression and must be specified separately.
- To ensure data consistency, characteristics names which are entered in the basic settings of are always ignored when resolving such placeholders. This does not apply if such a characteristic name is specified explicitly (without *).
- Depending on the fields an extended MM view control applies, see View Control.
- For MVIEW:MMS table MAKT the wild card is not supported.
- For filters the wild card in field names is not supported.
- Fields which have an initial value in the source are ignored when the * placeholder is resolved, i. e. they are not set. This does not apply if a field is set explicitly, that is, without *.
- Fields with * and explicit field specifications:
- If values with explicit field specifications according to the sequence number are made before an * entry, the entry with * must be made with the option "Only if Initial". Otherwise, explicitly set values may be overwritten.
- Conversely, if the entry with * is accordingly to the sequence number before the explicit entries and the option "Only if initial" is not set for the explicit entries, they overwrite the * entries. This also applies if an initial value is set (see above for initial values with * and without *).
Examples:
If initial, the drawing fields (MARA-ZEI) will be filled with the values from the reference material.*
