Usage of MMS with IDOCs

Generally, it is not recommended to create material master data with IDOC (and thus also ALE) and trigger MMS actions through it at the same time. This applies in particular if several views are handled by the IDOC system.

Internally, several (up to many) logical transactions are executed for these views. Due to this, it is possible that MMS is activated, but then during the actual execution the data of the material master no longer corresponds to the status of the triggering.

Problems can also occur if several material masters (i.e. mass actions) are handled by IDOC. This is because the data handling of IDOC / ALE and MMS "interfere" with each other.

If IDOCs and MMS are nevertheless to be executed together, the following procedure is recommended:

  • Collect the IDOCS

  • Process via report RPDAPP01

  • Activate the option "Wait for end of processing" in this report.

Also note the setting Prog./Trans. mass processing .
