Context Menu Functions

To start the context menu place the mouse cursor on an object and click the right mouse button.

The context menu supports see . If several objects are selected, the available functions may change. Functions that can only be executed on one object (e.g. change object) are hidden. For functions that support multiple selection, the availability of the functionality depends on whether different object types are selected and whether the selected objects are also in a valid state for the function.

Example:

  • Function Add to selection adds objects to an object list. This function is possible for all object types, therefore this function will always be available.

  • Function Delete originals is only available, if only originals have been selected. This function is provided as soon as one original can be deleted.

  • Function Status change can only be executed, if only objects of the same type have been selected and if they have at least one identical successor status.

Drag & Drop

Objects and structures which are supported by ProFramework can be moved from one widget to another using drag & drop. This can initiate various actions, such as the creation of a new document info record, creation and assignment of a new document original to an existing document info record, etc.

Drag & drop is supported on single objects or multiple objects. For multiple selection see . However the target widget must accept all object types.

As soon as any object has been grabbed by the mouse, the cursor icon changes, depending whether the element supports the drop-function. The simultaneous use of Ctrl-key changes into the copy mode, which is indicated by the icon used.

Drag & drop action is possible. The object can be moved.

Drag & drop action is possible. The plus symbol stands for a copy-process.

Dropping is not possible.

Which mode is possible depends on the source as well as the target widget. If only move mode is possible, pressing the Ctrl-key has no influence. If only the copy mode is possible, the specific icon will indicate it without pressing the Ctrl-key.

Multiple Selection

Within tree widgets and hierarchical lists, multiple objects can be selected to invoke a context menu function or to start a drag & drop action.

The selection of multiple nodes is done either by pressing the Ctrl or Shift key.

  • By pressing the Ctrl keys, multiple objects can be selected by clicking on them individually.

  • The Shift key can be used to select one block. To do this, select the start object without holding down the Shift key and then select the end object while holding down the Shift key.

  • Once a block has been selected, further objects can be selected or deselected by holding down the Ctrl key.

Single/Double Click

In general one cursor click on any object or function in a tree-widget or hierarchic list starts a context dependent reaction.

If option

  • Single-click is active, the context will be underlined, as soon as the mouse cursor hovers the element.

  • Single-click is inactive, one click selects the object (cell or line), the double-click starts the actions.

Which contents provide the single-click option cannot be controlled and depends on the widget. However, in the user settings the single-click can be deactivated generally. This way, drag & drop actions can be handled easier (see Behaviour in ).

Field History List

Certain fields in forms remember past inputs that the user typed into them. Most notably the Navigation Widget remembers for example Material and Document numbers that were previously specified.

The user can chose from past entries from a dropdown that is displayed when the given field is active.

The history functionality has different look and functioning under specific circumstances:

The list of past entries opens when typing into the field.

When the Edge Browser is the embedded browser of SAPGui, the field history list is shown as on the screenshot. The history list can be opened by typing into the field or by clicking the small triangle at the end of the field.

Under some circumstances with the Edge Browser as the choice of browser inside SAPGui it is not possible to show the normal history list as expected. For these fields a history list is presented with a different arrow button at the end of the field. The history list can be opened by clicking the selection arrow. For these fields, typing into the field will not open the history list automatically.

Selecting an item in the history list will copy the chosen value into the input field.
