Processing scenario

Creation and change of objects (e.g. material or document) in ProConfiguration always follows so-called processing scenarios. A processing scenario defines how changes must be made, which control parameters must be used, which settings are required for a reference object. Serially connected processing scenarios form phases and processes.

Data package

A data package is an object of the ProConfiguration, which is grouping the document objects. The data packages of a KOFIMA-Item are used to structure objects which are necessary to describe the materials. The grouping of the documents in a data package is mostly based on the significance and the chronological sequence.
A data package belongs to an organizational unit. This way data packages, linked to a client can be unique, other data packages like for plants can exist for each plant once.

A Konfiguration Management-Item is a node in the product structure with all relevant data (SAP objects), which is necessary to describe the configuration, such as material, BOM, document, Document BOM etc.

Each material, representing a so-called ProConfiguration KOFIMA-Item, is specified with a configuration type. This configuration type defines data, functions and dependencies of the configuration of this KOFIMA-Item.

Context menu

A context menu (also called contextual, short cut, and pop-up or pop-up menu) is a menu in a graphical user interface (GUI) that appears upon user interaction, such as a right-click mouse operation. A context menu offers a limited set of choices that are available in the current state, or context, of the operating system or application. Multiple used documents

KOFIMA-Items are also described by their documents. Some documents, such as regulations, instructions, specifications etc. are used more than once, that means they are used in various configurations. These documents are managed outside the configurations and will be integrated or exchanged with ProConfiguration tools.

Object dependencies

Some actions on a single object in the configuration may lead to checks or actions on other configuration objects. These object dependencies are client specifically implemented and ensure the data consistency in a configuration.

Object selection dialog

In the object selection dialog all document objects can be selected which should be added to or changed in a configuration. This dialog can be provided for the user as automatic process, controlled by a processing scenario or in combination with a certain function selection.

Objects

A data package can include different objects, like as norm parts, purchase parts, spare parts, production resources and tools, work places, suppliers, regulations etc. See also "Configuration" Widget for list of possible objects.

Language/Language combination

Documents can be multi lingual, either several documents for one language each or real multilingual documents. Language relevant documents are supported actively by ProConfiguration.

Status/ status net

During its life cycle, each objects runs through several status. These status, the change between status, possible control functions and the meaning of all status are defined in a status net.

Part family

(Part-) families are a group of materials which are partly handled together by the ProConfiguration and presented as a complete family on the configuration display. The materials remain single KOFIMA-Items, whereas their product life cycle has been integrated.

Widget

A Widget stands for flexible, independent reusable screen sections with object specific and context sensitive functionality. It provides specific information, offers functions for its content, is able to interact with other widgets (within the same ProNovia application), e.g. by drag&drop actions or context menu functions. If the state of the configuration allows it, any object selection dialog can be repeated randomly in order to adjust the configuration.
