Values are set using standard SAP MM interfaces to change the material master record and all values and dependencies checks will be performed according to the setting of the material master.

Procedure

First it is recommended to create filters and activations with simple dependencies. (See also Selection Rules and MMS Basic Settings → Fields for Control Group Selection). Only when this is running correctly, the complete definition of dependencies should be created.
A simple dependency could be the time setting (<SYUZEIT>) into field MARA-BISMT.
Dependencies may be tested also the other way round: First create a selection rule and a simple activation, and then add a dependency. Example: Use selection rule MARA-MTART = * and activation MARA-BISMT = *. This setting will run the dependencies each time, when for field previous material number the value was changed.

Trouble Shooting

Most errors are a consequence of material master standard checks. This requires that the data (settings of relation) have to be corrected according to the error messages. If a dependency cannot be performed, first try to change the values with transaction MM02, not in the ProMaterialData process. Take notes of the necessary entries and correct the relations afterwards in the ProMaterialData customizing.
It may also be possible, that groups within a relation are not correct, and as a consequence, ProMaterialData cannot treat those fields together, because they belong to different groups.
