After each start of a clone process ProMassOperations checks the initial object. When a clone process was already performed before, the user can decide between starting a new one or continuing an existing one.

To continue a clone process is recommended in the following cases:

  • Repetition of a clone process after process error (columns error is marked).
  • Only part of the structure has been cloned before, because
    • the subordinate assembly was cloned before the superior hierarchy
    • an assembly, which has been imported shall be cloned subsequently
    • the engineering BOM was cloned before the production BOM. The BOM must not have the same structure.

Always the initial object is controlled for previous clone operations. For multiple runs of a clone process, always the same initial object must be used.

If the change number is altered for a restart or a repetition of a clone process, a message will pop-up. It is possible to return to the initial screen and correct the change number.
