Start Clone Operation

Open	The mass operation will start using function key "save". In case of "quit" or "exit", and data has been changed, a safety dialogue will be started.

All actions of the clone process will be recorded, this way a clone process can be continued. For each new clone process a new description is required:

All mass operation actions will be recorded in a log and displayed at the end. The last handled object in the structure (head material, document) will be marked.

Functions:

If any action on an object results in an error, the mass operation is aborted at this point. A pop-up will inform the user about the error. The error is listed in the log.

Material Views and Routings

It depends on the customizing settings, which views, work and check plans of material master records will be copied.
For material master views two different views are possible:

• Views which will ignore entire tables, if they are not copied (e.g. distribution or storage views).

• Different plant views, which will change the maintenance state of the plant.

In case of a reduction of the maintenance status, the following error is possible.

This may happen, if only certain maintenance states are possible acc. customizing, but the initial material has none of these states. In the example above, only the Q-view (quality management) is maintained, but only A, D or E (work preparation, disposition or purchase can be created. In this case ProMassOperations cannot create plant views and the clone process will be aborted, because further steps will not be possible. This conflict can either be solved by an adjustment of the reference material or a change of customizing settings.

Document Originals

If documents are cloned (via document structure or indirectly by cloning a BOM with documents controlled by ProConfiguration, the handling of the document originals may be controlled either by the clone operation settings or individually by the document info record.

The following options are possible.

• Handling acc. SAP DMS, e.g. the document originals are linked to the new document (default behaviour).

• Document originals are cloned, a copy of the original is created.

• Document originals are not transferred: In combination with ProConfiguration it is possible to decide, whether new templates shall be read. This options have no influence for other functions for document originals (e.g. deletion of single originals with ProConfiguration or ProDocument). They are running separately.
