Function Characteristic settings for search results of SAP standards allows defining layout variants for characteristics, which will be used in the standard SAP object search and display (transaction CL30N, Object search in classes). The creation of such a layout variant is done per class within transaction CL02 class administration. The layout can be edited using menu option Extras Char. Settings for Search Results, under tab Char.
Display layout options can be maintained (with or without sorting) or deleted.
On the right side, all available fields are listed, e.g. standard fields as well as all characteristics. For filtering the drop-down list in the top right corner is available. All other fields have no influence on ProEasyBrwose, except field description which will control the display of the object description. The order will also be defined in this view. Unfortunately no push button exits. In order to insert a field at a certain position the field below must be marked before the transfer, else it will be inserted at the end of the list.
If a layout variant with sort functions is maintained, another pop-up will appear, which will again provide all fields (even those, which have not been selected). On the left side, it is possible to define the sorting direction. The sequence of the fields will only influence the sorting, it won't influence the displays.
