This chapter will describe the required settings for multiple used documents using the MUD monitor.

General settings to link documents are described in chapter Data Packages, the display of the MUD monitor is described in the CFM User Manual.

The handling of the MUD is only possible for data packages, which do have a document info record with a structure.

ProConfiguration documents, which are linked to different configurations, are called multiple used documents (MUD). Basically there are two different possibilities how changes of MUD shall be handled by the ProConfiguration:

  • Changes based on configuration scenario („old")

    • A change is started on a usage and the MUD will be marked for versioning.

    • Depending on the settings, all other usages will also be included in the change process.

  • MUD are created and changed independently from the usage and will then be exchanged via ProConfiguration MUD handling in all usages („new").

    • The usages and the MUD can be handled independently.

    • After a MUD has been released all usages will be shown on the MUD monitor.

    • The MUD monitor allows the handling of the new version in all its usages:

      • Exchange, when the usage is currently under change.

      • Exchange after a start of a change on the usage.

      • Mark for next change of usage.

      • Ignore this version of MUD for a usage.

    • All necessary actions can be executed online or batch wise.
