Container

Each object makes its data available to other objects in the form of so-called containers and items. This enables a very generic form of data exchange between objects without the structure of an object having to be known exactly. The provision of containers and items is fully automatic. The process can be enriched with additional data through customer-specific .

The Data Flow property provides information about how the data is transported. Data that is not exported can only be used internally and cannot, for example, be used in expressions (see ). The following data flows are possible:

Import only (no external access)

Export only (no external setting)

Once custom containers and items have been defined, they can be activated manually. In addition, it can be specified for each item that a value is mandatory. In this case, a value must already be defined at the start of the process.

By activating an item, this item including the data type is taken over into the process definition. If the central items are subsequently changed, these changes are not automatically transferred to the process. Subsequently centrally created or deleted items also have no influence on the processes. To update an item, it must be deactivated and reactivated.

The containers and items provided by the objects can be used in various places (e.g. members, texts, formulas,...) using the .
