Clone-control groups for folder structure

The behavior of the cloning process is configured in clone control groups. The clone control groups are always assigned to the top folder of the structure to be cloned; subordinate folders do not require their own assignment to a clone control group. Clone control groups are assigned based on the folder type of the top folder of the structure to be cloned and the folder type of the directly superior folder.
Source structure:

  • Folder type MF

    • Folder type SF

      • Folder type SF1

        • Folder type SF3

      • Folder type SF2

        • Folder type SF3

If the folder of type SF shall be cloned, an assignment of a clone control group to folder type SF and superordinate folder type MF must exist. A generic specification (*) for folder type or higher-level folder type is possible. If multiple control groups are possible for a folder type, the control group must be selected at the start of the cloning process.

When selecting the control groups, there is no weighting between concrete information or generic information. If several control groups are valid according to generic or concrete assignment, these are offered in the selection.

Actions document

Settings for permitted actions for documents. The search sequence is specified in the Identification field. It is possible to restrict the actions clone and take over according to the document status. To do this, it is possible to specify whether the action is allowed in a special status (specifying a document status) or in a released status (release indicator activated). If no restriction is maintained, the action is possible in any status.

If no record is found for a document, the document is displayed, but no actions are possible. The document is not considered in the cloning process.

In the cloning process, only document versions that are within the structure to be cloned are considered. Versions that are outside the structure to be cloned are neither automatically selected as the highest version nor can they be selected manually.

Data document

Data

Settings for changeability and default values of fields for documents. The search sequence is specified in the Identification field.

Characteristics

The settings for characteristics are grouped together by identification. This means that all characteristics with the same identification form a group. This group is searched for in the same way as the Data document settings.

For example, the following entries form the following groups:

Group

DAR-DTY

017/CHARACTER*

Only characteristics that were defined according to the setting in Characteristics document are copied. Characteristic names can be specified generically. Within the group, a characteristic is searched from concrete to generic.

Characteristics that are not covered by a setting in Characteristics document are assigned the corresponding default value if they are part of the target configuration. All classes in which the specified characteristic occurs are copied from the template. It is irrelevant whether the "do not copy" indicator is set or a default value is defined for the characteristic.

For example:

For a document of type DAR-DTY, the characteristics 017/CHARACTER_1 and 017/CHARACTER_2 are transferred, for a document of document type DAR (with any document type) only characteristic 017/CHARACTER_1 is transferred.

Characteristics 017/CHARACTER_2 and 017/CHARACTER_3 are transferred for all documents of document type group DTYP_GRP. For all other documents, all characteristics of class type 017 that begin with CHARACTER are transferred.

Actions folder

Settings for permitted actions for document folders. The search sequence is specified in the folder type field.
It is possible to restrict the action clone to the document folder status. To do this, it is possible to specify whether the action is allowed in a special status (specifying a document status) or in a released status (release indicator activated). If no restriction is maintained, the action is possible in any status.

Data folder

Settings for changeability and default values of fields for document folders. The search sequence is specified in the folder type field.

Characteristics

The settings for characteristics are grouped together by folder type. This means that all characteristics with the same folder type form a group. This group is searched for in the same way as the folder data settings.
For example, the following entries form the following groups:

Only characteristics that were defined according to the setting in Characteristics folder are copied. Characteristic names can be specified generically. Within the group, a characteristic is searched from concrete to generic. Characteristics that are not covered by a setting in Characteristics folder are assigned the corresponding default value if they are part of the target configuration. All classes in which the specified characteristic occurs are copied from the template. It is irrelevant whether the "do not copy" indicator is set or a default value is defined for the characteristic.

For example:

For a folder type FOLTYPE, the characteristics 017/CHARACTER_1 and 017/CHARACTER_2 are transferred, for a folder type FOLTYPE2, the characteristics 017/CHARACTER_1, 017/CHARACTER_2 and 017/CHARACTER_1 are transferred. For all other folder types, all characteristics of class type 017 that begin with CHARACTER are transferred.
