Object Handler

Each object type supported by the application is defined by an object handler. The assignment of the object handler actively supports the object in the application. For the assignment of the object handler, input help F4 can be used and the object handler can be selected from a list.

Some object handlers are loaded automatically. They either depend on other object handlers or on widgets. Theses object handlers are marked in the input help F4 with a checkbox.

Only object handlers without navigation are loaded automatically as they have integration characteristics.

If an object handler is representing a navigable object, the object type is shown in the navigation widget as soon as it is activated here. Use the field Order to define the order of object types in the navigation widget.
Use the flag No Nav. to allow objects to be displayed within the application, but prevent the user from selecting the object type in the navigation widget. The object type is just shown temporarily in the navigation widget to display the current object key. Use the flag Ext. View and Ext. Cre/Ch to force displaying and creating/changing objects of this type in the SAP standard transaction.

Use the option Start w/o object to prevent the last object of the corresponding object type from being loaded at startup. This has a positive effect on performance.

Automatically loaded object handlers do not appear in the navigation widget by default. If the object handler provides a navigable object type, the object type can be activated by manual assignment of the object handler at this place.

Available Object Handlers

A list of all available object handlers can be found in the ProFramework customizing in Enhancements - Application Controller - Application Controller (read-only). This list also shows, which Object Handler are loaded automatically and why this is done.

Parameter

In some cases, the object handlers support specific settings, which can be set by parameters. Available parameters can be selected with input help F4. Depending on the parameter, values can be selected by another input help F4.
