Status Types

Status Types

The different states are defined by the status type. The types, their functions and descriptions are listed below.

Status type

Function / Description

Initial

For a new material only this status type can be used.

Release, End of processing scenario

Released: Indicates end of processing scenario.
In case a predecessor material exists, the successor material will set it on the Destination status of the processing scenario, which was triggered by the action of the successor material.

Locked status

Material master record with a locked status will be ignored for actions within a family and actions for multiple used documents.
This status indicates, that the material is locked and therefore should not be used anymore or only very restricted. It is possible to lock logistic objects and actions in the SAP standard customizing material status settings.

Locked status, hidden

Analogue to lock status, but material master records with such a status will not be displayed in the ProConfiguration configuration. Displaying a configuration starting with such a material, a warning message will appear.

Material will be hidden in general and is independent of the organization. E.g. material with a cross plant status „locked, hidden" will also be suppressed in the plant documents use.

Change

Indicates the material change status (normal / simple / …).

Rejected

Indicates that the actual process (e.g. control via check status) has been rejected. The successor status to a rejected status follows a certain filter. The following requirements must be fulfilled:

  • Status „Initial" or „Work" will only be accepted if it corresponds to the last one in the status log. Therefore always the last work status will become active again.

  • All other status types will not be filtered and will be accepted according to the status network.

Example:
A material has the following status net:

  • IA / IB = Work status

  • PA / PB = Check status

  • FR = Released

  • ZG = Rejected

  • SP = Locked

A material follows status process IA > PA > ZG. After status ZG was set, only status IA (last work status in the log) and locked status SP (no work status in the status net) will be possible as a successor status. Status IB cannot be set, even defined in the status net.|

Declined change

Allows to set a change as declined or with other word set it invalid. This type of status is typically used as follow up status of a "rejected" type and has following functions:

  • The validity of the supported objects which were changed with the change number corresponding to this change will be set to 30.12.9999. With that this change will "never" be valid.

  • Any earlier declined change will be shifted one day back (for example from 30.12.9999 to 29.12.9999).

  • All objects which validity is controlled by ProConfiguration will be shifted.

  • This status type can be used on changes for revisions to material client, to plants (if plant revision is activated) and on data packages.

  • On data packages, the corresponding version is completely invalid. On material master changes, the last valid change will be made active again. This is also visible in the status log.

This status type must only be used together with alternative date element. Otherwise the validity can't be shifted and the objects will be valid according the change master record or the validity date of the change.

Temporary

Temporary status, which can be used for documentation (à log) or to trigger certain actions. Immediately after posting the status will be replaced by the predecessor status (incl. log line).
Please consider the following rules concerning processing scenarios:

  • If triggering status (predecessor status before temporary status) was an initial or a work status, the processing scenario will be set back to the values of the triggering status.

  • In all other cases (types), the processing scenario of the temporary status will remain and only the predecessor status will be transferred.
This behavior may be overwritten by process scenario settings. Therefore please consider information on customizing field “Set back to predecessor scenario” in definition of procession scenarios.

Other

All status, which does not fit to one of the above mentioned types, resp. status types which are not defined.
