Granting Licenses

Certain actions will automatically reserve a named license. If no more licenses are available, the action will be aborted immediately. Please refer to License Types for information about the release logic of licenses.

Main licenses

The ProFramework allows customer specific setup of applications and allows mixing of object handlers and widgets from different products/solutions. Therefore, it is no more possible to automatically determine the required license. When setting up new applications the relevant license has to be defined in the customizing by the customer. Be aware, that object handlers and widgets may request a license. If the license of the application is not set properly the start of the application may reserve more than one (different) license!

To run a ProFramework application, a counting license must be assigned to the application. See ProFramework customizing manual.

To use solutions like ProProcess (BPF) or ProConfiguration (CFM) in a licence free read only mode, the corresponding ProFramework application needs another "Application Licence", like ProPLMClient. If BPF or CFM licence ID is assigned to a application, the start of the application assigns the licence to the user.

Technical Licenses

As described before, technical licenses are provided unlimited if the licensed solution enables the technical license. To find out, which solutions include which technical licenses please refer to License list.
