Role based Navigation

With role-based navigation, actions can be performed on objects with different tools (navigation targets) depending on the current role of the user.

How role-based navigation works

In the role-based navigation, it is possible to define for an object type (e.g. DRAW) and an action (e.g. Create) and a role (which can also be empty) what target is to be jumped to. Thus, in individual or in all ProNovia products can be set how an object is displayed, changed or created. The actual navigation is done by so-called handlers. ProNovia provides three handlers by default:

  • Object navigation: Calls the standard object navigation in the SAP standard. This standard is the scope of the product and is fixed.

  • AFW Application: Navigates to an AFW navigation.

  • URL: Navigates to a corresponding URL / Internet link.

  • Transaction: Call of a transaction that is parameterized via Get/Set parameters.

If no destination can be determined for a navigation, an attempt is made to call the SAP standard.
