Basic Materials in ProConfiguration
ProConfiguration allows setting up basic materials. Their basic material documents can be assigned to other material masters.
The following definitions are relevant and must be considered:
Basic Material
Any basic material relevant for ProConfiguration consists of a material master and a linked primary document (type of object relevance = primary).
A primary document must be an object type, which shows clearly that the document is a basic material document and can only be used as such.
All option for the definition of data packages, processing scenarios, dependencies etc. can be used on this basic material.
Usage/Assignment of a basic material
The assignment of a basic material requires an object in a data package with
an object type as described above,
a registered object relevance of type basic material.
The following object relevance settings of ProConfiguration are overruled or adjusted:
Field | Value//Behavior |
---|---|
Multiple used documents | Always Yes, in case of new version no action for other usages Despite the multiple usages the usages of multiple used documents are not exploded in the workbench. |
Vs on link. | If a value is set for <> Highest released version, else highest version and Highest released version, mandatory, the first of the values is used. |
Without Creation./Vs | Always activated |
The moment of assignment of a basic material, no matter if optional or mandatory is controlled as usually by the registration of the object in the data package and the object control in the processing scenarios.
The definition of the classes and class types as well as the assignment of the basic settings result in copying the relevant class and characteristic values with identical names from the basic material to a new material master record.
If a basic material document is linked, the basic material must be registered. The search help used is saved per user and reset after a recall, even when the user has activated another search help on other material number fields in the meantime.
