Using AFW with Edge as HTML Control

If AFW based applications are used with EDGE as HTML control, the following limitations currently exist:

The input history does not open with the backspace key

This is a technical limitation of the Edge based HTML control. The display of the value list is done automatically by the browser and cannot be controlled. The value help can be opened with the ↓ (down arrow) key after pressing Backspace. The general handling of the input history has been improved with AFW V3.8.

Input history in small widgets cannot be opened via keyboard

This is a technical limitation of the Edge based HTML control, which does not allow opening the used input control via keyboard.

Before AFW V3.9, no input history is displayed in widgets with small height.

No display of preview images

Preview images are loaded directly from the content server via URL in AFW based transactions. Therefore, due to stricter security policies in Edge browser, it is no longer possible to load the preview images via http or via https with untrusted certificate. As of AFW 3.8, the preview images are loaded directly via the SAP GUI. Before AFW V3.8, the system must be set up so that the content repository uses HTTPS and the content server requires a trusted certificate.
