Validities

ProStructure can explode the structures in the following ways and apply the changes to SAP accordingly:

  • None

  • Validity area by date

  • Change number

The first option None is only used for objects with no or only one validity. For the currently supported material BOMs, the validity is always handled by date or change number.
However, structures for an application such as ProStructure must always be exploded using a key date, even if validity ranges result from the data determined for the initial objects. This means that underlying structures in a validity area of the initial object can have several validities. ProStructure therefore has two uses of the validity areas for explosion:
Key date acc. Date to out of validity area
Key date acc. Date from from area of validity
Which of these types and usages of validity are used is defined in the settings of the relation definition used. In on the interface, the validity used and the key date determined are always displayed for both structures:

The possible validities and accesses are explained below using exemplary data.

1

Key date (according to input), shown as an example (currently not implemented).

2

Key date in validity range A Initial object, lower date.

3

Key date in validity range A Initial object, upper date..

4

Validity range A (from - to) according to boarding object. This option cannot be used as described, see, for example, object 3, where the validity A, B and C would (partially) be contained in this area.

5

Key date in validity area B Initial object, lower date

6

Key date in validity area B Initial object, upper date --> Since this is greater than the start date for changes, it is used, that is, like 5.
