Changing and Deleting of Structure Relations

You can change and delete a structure relationship directly in the ProStructure application by selecting the function "Change" or "Delete", which are made available in the widgets Navigation and Structure Relationship Basic Data via the corresponding pushbuttons, and for the special functions via the title bar submenu:

If changes to the structure relationship that have not yet been saved exist, the system asks whether you want to save them.

Change

In ProStructure, Change only refers to the maintenance of the header data of the structure relationship. Maintenance of the target structure of a changing structure relationship is dealt with in Editing the Target Structure.

Depending on the type, you can only maintain a small amount of data in the structure relationship, since most data is of a controlling nature and a change to this would result in inconsistent structure data.

You can change the name and authorization group for both types at any time.
For comparative structure relationships, you can change the type to "Reconciliation and actions on target structure". When you save, the same checks are made as described under Creation of a Structure Relation.
For comparative structure relationships, you can change the validity of the reference and the target.
For changing structure relationships, you can change the validity of the target, but only if the changes are not yet applied. After applying, the used validity must be reset first (see below “Reset target validity”).

Deactivate/activate relationship

Only available on changing structure relationships. Deactivating a structure relationship sets it as terminated, i.e. the Status of a structure relation changes to "Structure relationship terminated, no further synchronization". If a structure relationship has this status, it is no longer included in the checks:

It is possible to reactivate a structure relationship. However, only if the corresponding target structure with the set validity is not in process in another active structure relationship. When you activate a deactivated structure relationship, it is set back to the status before deactivation.

Reset target validity

Only available on changing structure relationships. If the selected target validity is wrong, it is possible to reset it. This may be necessary, for example, if the validity (directly / by change number) leads to errors in the substructures during application. The next time changes are applied to the SAP structures, the effectivity or change number to be used is queried again.

Deletion

Structure relationships can be deleted using the corresponding function and after confirmation.

As written in the dialog shown above, all ProStructure data will be deleted. Data in the target structure in SAP remains unchanged, even if it has already been changed by ProStructure.

You can also reinitialize a structure relationship by deleting it and then creating it again. This means that all changes made to the target structure in the ProStructure data are rejected by deletion and the target structure is re-imported from the existing SAP structure in the newly created structure relationship.
