Mass Operations Change Master Record

Classification / Characteristic Values

This function allows handling of characteristic values and class assignments for several selected material master records. Characteristic values can be exchanged, deleted, copied, missing assignments and valuations can be added.
Additionally it is possible to set the classification status from class assignments to a status „released" without any checks (opposite to SAP standard auxiliary tools).

The change management allows determining the validity of characteristic values dependent on the key date or parameters. Depending on the class type settings this option may not be available.

Customer exits allow detailed influence on all functions.

Replace value	Replaces the characteristic value in all selected change master records. The value listed under parameter „Value to search/set/replace" will be replaced with parameter „New characteristic name.
Assign value if not valued	All selected change master records with characteristic without value will be assigned to parameter "New characteristic name".
If multiple values, also if missing	Addition to function above. Multi valued objects are regarded without value, if the value to be set has not been assigned.
Copy value	Copy of the value found, acc. parameter „ Value to search/set/replace" from the characteristic name into „Characteristic to", as long as the characteristic has not been valued.
Replace any old value	Addition to function „Copy Value". The characteristic will be valued, even when the target value has already been valued, e.g. the current value will be overwritten.
Delete value	Deletes the characteristic in all selected change master records, if the actual characteristic has value acc. to "Value to search/set/replace).
Assign class if missing	Assigns this class to all change master records, which have not been assigned to this class.
Set class status to released	This function will set classification status of classification assignments to "released". Status change without check regarding complete classification, mainly used to correct classification status after data import, when not all characteristics have been valued.
Delete class allocation	A selection popup for all relevant objects will be displayed. For the chosen object, the specified class will then be deleted. Characterstics which are only valuated in this class will also be deleted.

Valid from	Search restriction by valid from date of change master record
Status	Search restriction by status
Created by	Search restriction by user who has created the change master record.
Cl. status locked	Valid for function "Set cl. Status to released". Search for class assignments with locked classification status.
Cl. status incomplete manual	Valid for function "Set cl. Status to released". Search for class assignments with classification status "incomplete manual".
Cl. status incomplete system	Valid for function "Set cl. Status to released". Search for class assignments with classification status "incomplete system".
Extended search	Starts an extended search, for details please refer to Extended Search.
Action Parameter
Class type	Class type to be handled, for change master records the class default value is „025"
Class	Input restriction for the class. Without input, the operation runs for all classes with this characteristic. With input only for objects with this class. For certain functions a class input is required.
Characteristic name	Name of the characteristic which shall be manipulated.
Characteristic to	This input will be used for function „Copy value"
Value to set/replace/delete	Search value for function "Replace characteristic" / „Delete value" / Copy value". For the last two functions, also search masks (*) are possible.
New characteristic name	Value for function "Replace value" / Assign class if missing".
Show list before starting	The list of change master records to be handled will be shown for selection before the execution.
Log file	Function messages will be written to this file (incl. path). For a default file name created with date and time only a path name is required, followed by an asterisk (*).

For a copy function with an originally multi-valued characteristic but only a single-valued target characteristic please regard the following: Only the first value (acc. to internal counter) will be used and written to the target characteristic. For a selection use a customer exit „mass function characteristic value" is required, which will transfer all sets.

Status / Valid from date

This mass operation allows the setting of ECM status and/or the valid from date.

Change documents will be written, but no standard checks and no exits are called. This is an administrator program, which changes the data directly on the data base, to allow i.e. the correction of old data inconsistencies, which can't be set normally via the sap GUI or the appropriate business process.
