Protected AddIn Directories

In general it is recommended, to distribute the ProNovia AddIns via a central software distribution to all clients.
If the AddIn for MS Word or MS Excel is installed by ProFramework and another Word or Excel file is being edited at that moment, the AddIn cannot become active. In this case, the windows of all related applications should be closed and the automatic data filling should be repeated.
If AddIns are distributed centrally, a distribution by ProFramework should be prevented. Therefore enter value "*" as Pathname for relevant PC applications.

If the AddIn directories for the PC applications Microsoft Word and Excel are protected or if the local directories are read-only directories, the AddIns cannot be installed automatically.

In this case, the AddIns must be distributed by the system administration and the directory must be registered in the customizing settings. If more than one directory must be protected for an application, multiple entries are necessary. The counter must be unique (1, 2, 3, ...). The entry for the protected path may also have wildcards (*).

In case only * is used, the automatic installation for the relevant AddIn will be prevented completely.

In the example below, the AddIns will not be installed by ProOffice, if the AddIns are in path W:\Programme\ (incl. all sub directories). The actual storage location for the AddIns will be set in the Microsoft Office application itself, which will be controlled with option "file storage" and read by ProOffice during runtime from the System registration.
