Shift Alternative Dates

ProNovia SAP PLM ConfigurationManager sets and moves the date elements (if activated) of the objects automatically. However, it may be necessary to manually set the valid-from date of an entire configuration or data package to a different date.

This function allows setting the validity for material masters and all its related objects, or of documents and all related objects.

Material	The key of the material master for which the validity is to be shifted.
Type Number Part document	The key (without version) of the document info record for which the validity is to be shifted.
BOM/structure BOM/structure (if not DP)	If activated, the BOMs are also moved if they have the same validity. For data packages (with document and structure) this option is ignored, their BOM is always moved.
DP and DP elements	If enabled, then data packages, their BOM and the documents in the BOM (if the same validity) are moved.
Include DP to org.units	Data packages for organizational units can generally also have an individual validity. If this option is activated, then all data packages will be moved, not only to the client, if they have the same validity.
Only if same alternative date	If activated, then alternative dates of subordinate objects are only moved if they currently have the same alternative date (and therefore also change number) assigned as the initial object.

Execution

The Execute button (F8) initiates the next step, the selection of the revision/version to be moved:

In the following dialog, the new valid-from date for the selected revision/version must be entered.

If a date is selected that lies before other validities or is identical with existing validities, these are shifted. A corresponding warning with an abort option is issued:

If a date is selected that is after other validities or is identical to existing validities, the validity is not shifted and a message is issued:

If this validity is to be effectively moved forward in time in this way, the newer validities must first be adjusted so that there is no longer a conflict.
