Relieving the SAP database of stored documents - generic object services (GOS).

Using the "Attachment List" service in SAP's Generic Object Services (GOS), an end user can easily create attachments to a business object.

The ProNovia SAP Solution - Request Management Client (RQF) uses GOS for attachments to the RQF business object "Request".

The stored attachments are stored in tables in the SAP database depending on the storage type. Depending on usage, this can cause the database to grow significantly.

Solution:

The problem of too large database tables can be changed by setting up an external content server or an archive system for storing the GOS attachments.
