Maintenance of Attributes

The items can have two different attribute areas:

  • In the case of an assembly, the corresponding attributes for the assembly

  • The data for the position at which the object is installed

These attributes can be displayed and, depending on the settings, maintained. This maintenance can also be carried out with several nodes selected at the same time, see below.

See for editing of long textes.

Call maintenance / display

Components selected using the function "Maintain data" or "Maintain data for selected assembly headers" in the context menu. If only the display is possible, the functions are offered with "Display...".

Double-click on the icon directly or, if none is displayed, in the corresponding area of the Header data or Item data column.

Single Maintenance Dialog

Which fields are displayed and ready for input depends on the settings and the item category. If data of an item with reference reference is maintained, the values from the reference structure can be displayed in the left area and the values of the target structure on the right. Otherwise, only the values of the target structure are visible.
The following functions and information are available depending on the data:

Push Button

Function

Push Button

Function

Reference value is copied to the target value.

The difference is confirmed and no longer output as a difference in future comparisons.

Marks that on this field the data are different.

Marks a value which has been marked as confirmed.

The confirmation of differences is also changed in the following cases, in addition to the function mentioned above:

  • A data entry which leads to different values between reference and target always also causes an automatic confirmation of this difference.

  • However, if the target value = reference value is set (directly or via the function offered) for a field with a confirmed difference, any confirmation is reset.

  • Depending on the settings, a confirmation is also cancelled if the corresponding field value is changed in the reference.

Maintenance Dialog Mass Maintenance

If provided for in the settings, field values can also be changed simultaneously for several items. Only those fields are offered that allow this mass maintenance in all selected items.

In the above example dialog, the fields Item text and Item text 2 are activated for mass maintenance on all selected items.

Field contents displayed

  • If all have set the same value, this is displayed, in the example the field Item text 2, in which all items have set the value"(undefined)".

  • If the selected positions have different field values, no content is displayed, in the example the item text field.

To maintain a field, the corresponding selection field must be selected, which allows entry for this field. Fields that are not activated for maintenance are not copied when you confirm the dialog and are therefore not replaced in the item values.
