Starting PBF Processes

Depending on the settings, processes start automatically due as a result of object changes or manually via a respective widget.

Automatic process start

Processes can start automatically as a result of data changes. Processes may start automatically in the background due to different configurations or can be activated and deactivated via an appropriate interface before they are started. It is possible to start several processes at the same time.-

Depending on the configuration, starting a process excludes starting it from other processes because processes request exclusive start permissions or manage an object status exclusively.
In the interface, this is displayed in the Message column. Such processes can still be selected with the consequence that other processes may be deselected.

It is theoretically possible for two non-optional processes to block each other if, for example, they both request an exclusive start. If such invalid constellations occur, the corresponding processes are finally deactivated and corresponding messages are issued. However, such a situation should not occur and indicates a problem in process modeling.

Manual Process Start

Processes can be set up so that they can be started manually. In the corresponding widget, the processes are divided into general and object-specific processes.

For the process start they can be selected with the help of the checkbox and then started with the title bar function.

After the start, corresponding messages are displayed directly in the Message column.

Editing Process Descriptions

Depending on the process, it can make sense to name the process differently from the predefined name. This is especially the case when processes are started without a main object (manual start only) and the processes cannot be distinguished directly.
Whether a process can be renamed is determined individually for each process. It is also determined whether an individual process designation is absolutely necessary. Maintenance depends on the type of process start.

When the process is started automatically, the processes are selected in a separate window. In this window, the descriptions can be maintained for the processes to be started. The corresponding column is only displayed if at least one process allows a different designation.

When the process is started manually the different designation is requested directly at the start and is requested manually for each process.

In both cases, editng is carried out via the following window. The process names are therby suggested and can be defined depending on the language.
