Object Creation/ Edit Object

The different tasks for creating and changing objects are all based on the same task and their customizing is basically identical. However, not all options are available after an action has been performed, as they are not required. The following settings refer to the following tasks:

  • Attachment

  • Attachment with template

  • Change

  • Attachment language document

  • Attachment Document Version

  • Plant Material View

With the exception of the Attachment task, all tasks are based on the object list. These tasks are multiplied at runtime for each object in the object list.

For the task Attachment, the object type to be created must therefore be selected in the Further settings. For all tasks, a navigation target can be selected optionally. If no navigation target is defined, the system will try to determine the target automatically using the action and the object type using role-based navigation.

For tasks that create new objects, you can also specify whether the new objects should also be added to the object list. The task Document Versioning also allows to replace the existing document in the object list. Using a change number is also optional and only makes sense if the object list must contain the change number to be used.

Some settings lead to further settings in the Object List tab. Here you can select where new objects should be added and which change number should be used. New objects are only added to exactly one group. The selected groups are checked and added to the group with the highest priority. The selection of several groups can be useful if groups have an upper limit or are locked against changes at different times.

When using change numbers, the change numbers from all selected object list definitions are taken into account. At runtime, the user must select the change number to be used if more than one change number is available for selection.-

Container extension
For tasks that create objects, the created object is also stored in the container. Since some tasks can be executed several times, only the last created object is accessible via the container.
