Unknown Objects/Documents

Introduction

Objects with objects identifications not matching the current configuration will normally not be displayed, if they are assigned to material master by object links or to a data package.

The following settings allow displaying theses documents

  • An object relevance with internal type Unknown object/document must be registered.

  • An object with SAP object DRAW must be created.

  • Unknown objects can be registered in any data package or in data package Unknown objects without document info record or BOM.

  • The object must be added to the data package with the suitable object relevance.

Remarks

  • As unknown objects cannot be assigned to data packages, the use of a special data package as described above is recommended.

  • If unknown objects with assigned organizational key via characteristic are existing, they will only be displayed in data packages of the corresponding organizational unit. If own data packages are used for unknown objects, one data package definition must be created per type of organizational unit.

  • Unknown objects cannot be created versionized or removed.

  • Unknown objects cannot be family objects. Some settings may be ignored or overwritten internally.

  • Unknown objects can exist multiple in a data package.

  • For each configuration only one unknown object can be registered in the data package per organizational unit. Others are ignored.

  • Unknown objects are kept internally with object identification Empty.

  • Unknown objects can be assigned directly to a material via object link or added as documents to data packages of a BOM. They will always be displayed, disregarding the setting of the data package (with/without BOM)

  • When changing the configuration type, data packages and documents linked to the previous configuration type, but no longer to the current, will not be displayed. Exception: Documents from data packages without structure. They are displayed as unknown.
